R12 Cannot Cancel Tax Lines on Payables Invoice 

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

• 1. Payables : Invoices : Entry : Invoices
• 2. Click on Tax Details
• 3. Summary tax lines window is opened.
• 4. Try to choose Cancel check box, but protected against update  Click on 'Detail Tax Lines'
•  choose Cancel check box, but protected against update

• Resolution:

The discard / cancellation / override of tax is not allowed on migrated invoices.

For tax lines linked with item can be cancelled by discarding the Item line which will also cancel the tax line.
But 'Tax Only' lines cannot be cancelled.
Available Options:

• Create Credit Memo
• Cancel Invoice fully and create new Manual Journal
