Setup of Holds to Prevent Specific or All Actions on a Sales Order
The following examples show how pick release is prevented with any of the 2 options when a hold is applied to a sales order after booking:
A, Preventing only a specific activity:
Create hold with following details:
- WF ITem = OM Order Line
- WF Activity = Pick Line
- Apply to Order and Lines checked
Result of applying the hold to a sales order eligible for picking:
- when launched pick release it will error: please see exceptions report
- in View Requests > Shipping Exceptions
Report will show the following message for this order:
Pick Selection List process could not select line nn for order nnnnnnnn for picking as it has been placed on a picking activity hold.
B. Preventing any activity:
Create hold with following details:
- WF ITem = blank
- WF Activity = blank
Result of applying the hold to a sales order eligible for picking:
- when launched pick release it will error: please see exceptions report
- in View Requests > Shipping Exceptions Report will show the following message for this order:
Pick Selection List process could not select line nn for order nnnnnnn for picking as it has been placed on hold.
