Oracle Payables :Schedule Payments

What is the purpose of Schedule Payments in Oracle Payables? 

It is a  Pay Run process is run all schedule payments that meets the criteria are selected for payments. Is this the only significance of schedule payments or do they have any role to play when you manually pay an invoice? 


This is only the functionality. If you go for a manual Payment it does overrides the Schedules and you are allowed to make payments if the invoice is eligible for making payments.
